Trouble going back to sleep.....

Posted by JohnA on August 13, 2002 at 10:56:35:

Hi fellow insomniacs! I have been one since I got married and figured out that I could not sleep in the same bed as my wife! This of course starts a vicious cycle (as you all know) where you obssess about sleeping the next night and so on.... Anyway, when my daughter was born things were not any better and it got to the point where the sofa was the best place to sleep. I use Ativan occasionaly and sleep well when I do - however, I am afraid of overusing it.

Just when I finally had some things figured out and I was getting to sleep OK next to my wife and the kids were sleeping - now my daughter gets up in the middle of the night and I lose the rest of the night. My wife also has a habit of getting up in the middle of the night to go to the washroom which annoys me NO END!! I am glad I found this site.

Do you guys have any suggestions as to getting back to sleep once awakened.
