Sleeping with the T. v. on is not particlarly healthy. You are receiving electro magnetic rays and radiation all night long. Unfortunately some people like my mother and father { they are hard of hearing anyway}my husband, and my previous self require that to lull them into sleep. When I first started with the insomnia I was convinced by all the "experts " that the bedroom is only for sleep and sex. So I finally made peace with this idea and now the T.v. not only upsets me but causes me to focus on it and be unable to sleep. The only answer for me was to sleep in another room. Since you are a couple that is not even married it sounds devastating to have to sleep apart. I don't blame you. Why don't you get and eye mask ?They make very comfortable light weight ones that block out the light completely. Adjust the sound very low or wear ear plugs so that you cannot distinguish exact voices and so that they are muffled and like white noise. If this doesn't work your fiancee is going to have to compromise, by either turning the T.V. off or allowing you to go into your own space. It is a serious problem. The more sleep deprived you get the angrier you will get towards your loving mate. Believe me, I've been there. Hope it works out for you.Hope
