Posted by Ann on November 06, 2002 at 02:20:43:I have had chronic insomnia for about two or more months. I can't remember what normal sleep feels like. My problem is that I'm too nervous all the time, and when I go to bed I'm scared. I have anxiety disorder, but the Klonopin that I was taking for that ended up being ineffective and now I don't trust it or want it. I want real sleep medicine.
I think that eventually the meds won't solve the problem; it has to do with life patterns, but life patterns won't change overnight (no pun intended).
I try relaxation techniques, but they fail also - often. I am wondering what kind of exercise I could use. When I go to sleep, sometimes I lie in bed all night for about seven hours...
Being completely exhausted doesn't help to make sleeping smoother. It makes it worse.
Is there light at the end of the tunnel? Could it possibly be any worse? Hope for an insomniac, please.
I live in a tense situation and try listening to relaxing tapes, but the problems in my mind keep working full time.
I want to just throw them out of my being and forget each and every one of them.I need to see a doctor soon. I have never tried any of the drugs, but I think they could help. Is there a sleeping drug that is not addictive?
