When I lay awake all night I find that thinking about my problems over and over makes me extremely anxious and I feel worse the next day for doing so. The lack of sleep just adds to the anxiety.
Go to the doctor and try to find a med that works for you. Sleeping pills never worked for me but Ativan and Elavil did. I feel so much more relaxed with a good night of sleep versus 0 sleep.
Try to find a temporary escape to get your mind off of your problems. I found gardening, going for a walk, reading, drawing, writing on this forum and taking a class was good for me.
Don't give up hope. Something will work for you.
