Hi. I hope you are successful in your cold-turkey approach; it sounds like it's worked for others.

Has anyone had experience tapering off Ambien? In my group insomnia workshop at Stanford where we were coached on sleep restriction (and stimulus control), people were going down by 2.5 mg after their average sleep efficiency was in the 90s for 5 days. (That's what I remember...) Several people got their usage way down, but their taper was over 6 weeks or so. And they were pretty darn tired from the SR.

It seemed really effective to do SR and the slow taper at the same time. The instructor advised us all to taper slowly if we'd be doing it in the future. I think it probably depends a lot on how habituated your body is, and how it handles things...

Jenny
