Everyone is different, and we react differently with medication. I personally had really bad nasal congestion with desyrel. But there are many different medications out there to try but he must talk to his MD. The sleep inducing anti-depressants are supposed to be non addictive. Ambien was a nightmare for me. It caused major nausea, and then the rebound insomnia was horrible. Three full days without sleep.
I am trying doxepin with some success.
He needs to find a doctor who understands insomnia.
