Hi Ellie. I take 25 to 50 mg most nights when I take it. It usually is a definite guaranteed sleep aid for me, it always gets me to sleep...never know how long or how well but at least it lets me sleep some. UNTIL LAST NIGHT!! I had the worst night last night that I've had in 8 months at least. I went to bed at 12:30, and didn't get to sleep until 8 or 9 the next morning! That's after taking 65 mg of hydroxyzine. I only slept off and on for about an hour. What a horrible night. Then I was drugged out all day and sleep deprived.

I wish you more luck with the hydroxyzine. You might need to take more. I find it works best when I take one pill (25 mg) an hour before bed, then one more pill right before I get in bed.

I'll write more later. I"m just so tired tonight. :(

P.S. To answer your question, I suffer from sleep onset insomnia, but also from all other types...bad quality sleep, early wakeups, you name it , I have it!
