yes, my college roomate did this in the late 1970s. we lived in a house with 8 women,and couldn't figure out who the nocturnal "food muncher" was. the next year, 3 of us rented a smaller house, and then were able to figure it out. she was very upset and surprised to discover she had been doing this for over a year. she actually woke up one night standing in the kitchen eating. otherwise, she couldn't believe it was her. she was always dieting and exercising during the day and couldn't figure out why she was gaining weight.

i don't know if it was related, but she did suffer from depression and ended up dropping out of school for a while that year to go home and get treated with antideppressants. she is doing great now.
