I have not read this book. But, felt compelled to respond. I ordered this book last night after visiting its website. I have heard many positive responses on this forum. The website for this book is very convincing. I have nothing to lose. I am going to give it a try. I have tried everything else, a couple dozen different types of medicines, lifestyle changes. Nothing seems to work for me.
I have been taking 15mg of Restoril for the last 2 months straight even though it doesn't always work. It was the only drug that worked for me in the past. I have recorded 19 episodes of partial or total insomnia in December, and 13 episodes in January. That is despite taking the Restoril. I am in total fear of going without it a single night. I can't continue like this. I know I should'nt be perpetuating my dependance/addiction to this med. It is only meant for short term use. I am at total wits end. You should talk to your'e doctor about this. You may want to do some research before taking any benzodiazepine class of medicine for any length of time.
I am going to make an effort to go clean. I know it is going to be difficult. I have read a number of responses claiming how difficult the beginning of sleep restriction was. As well as responses that it did'nt work. I am absolutely terrified of restricting my sleep. But, I have tried everything else, and nothing seems to work for me. So this is the next logical step. I am going to give it a shot.
