Yes, that book was very helpful for me. I had heard of sleep restriction and hygiene before but didn't believe it could ever be helpful for me. Like you, I got desperate enough that I bought the book (along with Jacobs' book). Weidman is so effective in motivating one to try SR because he actually lived the experience of chronic insomnia and improvement through SR. He is relentless in his "selling" of trying SR and talks back to the negative messages some of us say to ourselves about NOT giving it a try. My sleep is much better now, even though I no longer practice SR strictly. But when I have trouble with sleep again, I go back to a lot of the SR/sleep hygiene stuff which always helps. That is, of course, if I am taking care of myself in the other ways I have learned I need to do.

Good luck with the book. I hope it proves helpful for you as it has for many others.
