Yes AJM I have been diagnosed as bipolar. Originally I was diagnosed with a form of bipolar called Cyclothymia, but the quacks say that now I have progressed to bipolar II. When I am having manic episodes, I don't sleep for days at a time. They say that when you are having manic experiences that you don't need as much sleep. I can tell you from my experience that it catches up to you real fast. At first mania makes you feel great. You feel real excited and emotionally high. after a few nights in a row with no or little sleep you feel horrible. I have gone for six days of no sleep on manic attacks. But, my insomnia is not limited to only when I am manic. I can have insomnia at any time. It is a bigger problem when I am manic though.
