Oh what to think about?

Posted by WoodTheMan on April 28, 2003 at 06:53:59:

Hi,

I have found everyone's postings here to be very helpful and comforting. I'm 22, in good health and have had trouble sleeping for about 1 1/2 years.

I usually sleep 5-7 hours per night during the week (of course more on the weekends :) and wake up tired. It takes me a while to fall asleep, I awake at least once to use the men's room, and usually wake up before my alarm.

My problem is what to think about when I am trying to fall asleep? I need something to distract my mind and think about so my thoughts don't continuially return to sleep. Has anyone found any relaxation techniques or possible solutions to my problem? I just need something else to occupy my mind so I forget to think about sleep.

Thanks, I appreciate all your help :)
