June:

I have thought the same thing, whether or not your body becomes 'used' to that amount of sleep. I have been getting 1-2 hours of sleep for the last 5 weeks (4 hours for 8 months before that). I, too, am developing a tolerance to my drugs. Did all the drugs you mention literally not give you more than 2 hours of sleep, even at the beginning? If so, maybe your hypothesis is valid. Or, maybe, it's just that some of these drugs, especially the AD's, work on the same chemicals in the brain, and so switching does not provide any real benefit. This is a scary proposition, because I am just contemplating a switch from one 'pam to another (Clonazepam to Oxazepam), and one AD to another (Trazedone to Elavil). I'll cross my fingers. In the meantime, it is comforting to know that there is someone who has been able to live with this for so long.
