Thyroid and sleep

Posted by paf on April 30, 2003 at 15:36:30:

Hi Everyone,
It has been a very long time since my last post, mainly because there isn't anything new to report with my insomnia battle. I am still taking between 5-10 mg of Ambiein almost every night.
I have a new question--I have had problems on/off with hypothyroidism for a few years. My docs have always been hesitant about putting me on medication for it because of the insomnia. They have been stumped about me not sleeping and having too low of a hormone level. Today a new doc insisted on putting me on 25 mgs of synthoid. Does anyone have experience with this drug? Should I expect even less sleep and more irritability? I'm not sure if I should even try this. Any insight or comments are appreciated. Thanks--even though I haven't posted in a while, I still check everyone's progress daily!
