Best sleeping drugs combinations

Posted by DJmaux on May 01, 2003 at 06:03:36:

Ok sorry about the two posts but I forgot to mention this.
There are different drugs combinations that you can use when taking more natural drugs.
Now the thing is I am very unlucky in that I cant take any sleep aid at all other than olanzapine or GHB (dopamine reducing sleep aids) or I get nightmares, no matter what it is!
Ive tryed them all!
Now one cobination I thought of involves tackling every area of your body to help sleep. So if you took all the below (or as many as you can) at once it should help you slep!

Melatonin-Increases melatonin
Celery -Lowers adrenalin
Valerian -Increases Gaba
Tryptophan-Increases serotonin
Olanzapine-Lowers dopamine

So you see how targeting each different area with different sleep aids could help?
I used to sware by valerian, celery and melatonin years ago before the bad dreams (not caused by them)! A brillant combination.
I dont reomend taking olanzapine more than 1 or 2 times a week as you dont want the full anti psychotic effects or any other problems like withdrawl in a few people (not all!!) but im sure using olanzpaine infequently instead of every night is ok..
I used to be on olanzapine for a month every day and had no trouble what so ever! I remember never stuggling to sleep because of thinking and I slept better! Plus for those of you who wake up more lower dopamine means a less busy mind which means less waking right?
So if you wake up frequently try lower adrenalin and lower dopamine to calm you body and mind down!
Im going to order some olanazpine so ill tell you how I go with it using it once a week max!

So then you have all 5 of the main systems in you body that help you sleep sorted out!
When you guys take 2-3 medicines to sleep I bet you didnt think of targeting each area to form a super combination!
I apreciate most of you may not want to use olanzapine at all never mind once a week for whatever reason but I would recomend that all of you try the tryptophan, celery, valerian, melatonin combination at least instead of relying on only one drug to change one thing.
You might use a benzo to lower gaba but cant sleep because of high adrenalin. You might use melatonin but not sleep because your dopamine is too high. You get the picture?
Finally I really would recoment getting A light box or making sure you get plenty of sunsine/house light during the day as lower serotonin at night doesnt help sleep.
I cant try the thing above that adjusts all 5 because of bad dreams but I know that most of them mix ok and since olanzpaine isnt even primaraly a sleep tablet I dont see it clashing with the others.
If you took 5 differnt sleep aids at once normally you would be ill right but since all these 5 target differnt areas you can mix them all!

About the olanzapine, all I know is low dopamine is very good for sleep. I used to use GHB for sleep and it was so powerful I would laugh because I knew 100% that I would sleep when my dopmine levels droped to almost nothing but unfotunatly its only ever 3-4 hours which isnt enough and double dosing makes you feel like crap and I ended up hallucinating from too much GHB sleep so i dare not use GHB to sleep again and I wouldnt recomend it to anyone! But the point is low dopamine is very good for sleep. Do any of you think olanzapine is ok for like using once a week to avoid withdrawl etc especialy if I was ok on it all the time? I was on it perminetly for a month a few years ago and I slept well and had no withdrawl.
Maybe some of you should try olanzapine 1-2 times a week and see how it goes.
Please get back to me anyone on this idea of trying to target 5 big sleep zones all at once to get to sleep.
PS are there any other zones in you body/brain other than the ones above?
please respond anyone!
