There was an interesting article in the NYT magazine section approx. 2 yrs ago about fatal insomnia. I guaranttee you don't have it since it's confined to a few Italian families (in Italy), is a genetic mutation...so you can't "just get it", and is not even within the realm of reality for anyone on this board. You need to stop obsessing about things you don't have and will never have. You probably have a better chance of an astroid landing on your house then Fatal insomnia. No need to unnecessarily scare anyone else.

You might want to consider seeing a therapist instead of a neurologist to deal with your fears!
