LonelyGirl, you're not going to go crazy although I'm sure it feels like you will. I'll bet you felt better after that three hours of sleep didn't you? Your nerves probably even settled down a bit. Even if you were not currently in a really bad insomnia phase you probably wouldn't fall asleep right away after sleeping till noon. Your sleep time cycle is off as well.

I can tell you from my own experience that your life will be really miserable if you are obsessing about this during the daytime. You have keep on going about your life's activities even if it's painful until your sleep cycle gets better. This probably sounds too simple and pollyannish but you have to fight for your on quality of life. Insomnia, for me, is my lifelong opponent and I've found over the years that I can keep this opponent at bay most of the time and have a highly functional life.

What I am trying to say is that you will get better but you do have to believe in yourself. It's partly up to you. And everyone is different and will have a different approach and solution. I read a lot of postings about positive thoughts and I think that a positive frame of mind is always helpful. But for me, it was more a matter of acknowledging a problem, doing an inventory assessment of my own thoughts and actions and then deciding that nothing was going to stop me from living my life. I'm stubborn and sometimes that's a good thing.
