Posted by Adelle on May 30, 1999 at 21:16:04:I'm a very healthy eater. I excercise regularly. A year ago, I went through a very tramatic event, and since then, my sleeping has become very irregular. About 2 months ago my sleeping was so bad, I was getting an average of 3 hrs. of sleep a night. I've been having a lot of weight gain, since I've had insomnia, and I went to the Doctor about the weight gain. Some other things I've been having are more blurred vision, and irregular periods. I don't know if any of those others fall under the catagory. It wasn't thyroid, or really anything else. The Dr. thought that my insomnia was really affecting my matabolism, and deteriorating all my other functionings. He put me on some sleeping pills, 2 days ago, and so far I've had a good nights rest.I read an article today in a magazine that lack of sleep really messes up your motabolism and has the body store fat and lose muscle. This sounds just like what I've been experiencing. I'm hoping he's right about the weight gain, because there is nothing else to do. He also put me on anti-depressents. Has anyone else had symptoms like these!? I need some hope!
