Hello, Adelle!
Thanks for replying to my post on how can I get some shut-eye. Those relaxation tapes sound good, my mom has one or two so I`ll have try them out! When it comes to weight gain and insomnia, I think there is definitely a link. I`ve gained 50 pounds in the last 7 years and have gotten more depressed, anxious, and yes, now have insomnia. I can`t remember ever having problems falling or staying asleep like I do now. I think the article you read may be true for some but for me it`s different. It seems like with my metabolism getting super-low, I get sluggish but something else happens to cause me to not be able to fully rest. I know that when I used to work out a few years ago I had no problems going to sleep. My body almost knew it had to slow down my metabolism and rest my body after having my metabolism up so high that day. I don`t know, these are my theories for me. It`s difficult to diet but I think I may have to at least get some excercise to tire myself out.
I suffer from depression but actually sleep great after having an "episode" of depression. I tire my mind out so much during one that it WANTS to shut down for some rest. I took anti-depressants after my divorce 2 years ago but they made me feel "high" and I was better after less than a week on them.
Okay, enough with my rambling. :o)
I hope we ALL on this board find a solution to these sleepless and/or restless nights. Being tired all the time is almost as bad as being depressed all the time!Aurelia
