Isabelle:
Any 'generalist' can prescribe Ambien. There are a few who don't know about it, and there are some doctors who won't prescribe sleeping pills under any circumstance. But if you go to a doctor who has seen you in the past, and tell him/her that it's for a very limited (i.e. non chronic)use, he or she should be willing to prescribe Ambien.
He will probably only want to prescribe 5 mg tablets. But you may want to ask him about taking 10mg for that one-time event (i.e. the night before your exam).I have never heard of the Delta tapes you mentioned. Please let me know more information about them when you have a chance.
Good luck.
