Posted by Jay on June 03, 1999 at 06:42:24:Well, I have visited this board for the first time today hoping I could shed some light on my problem of falling asleep easily as 1-2-3, but then waking up 3-5 hours later and not sleeping any more.
My confusion after reading some of the posts is that a lot of people have to take anti depressants in order to get to sleep. What if you are not experiencing depression and just want to sleep? I don't want to experience the "usual libido" men experience when taking antidepressants. I just want to sleep.
There is such a difference in my whole day and outlook from getting at least 7 hours of sleep. I feel that it is just out of reach, but I can't get it. Any advice from anyone?
My insomia has been going on fairly steady for about 3 years ago following a broken relationship with a woman. I quickly got over the relationship and moved on, but have not been in a serious relationship since. I don't feel this has anything to do with my lack of sleep as I have lots of "gal pals" and I'm active and have a great job, but I just can't get the sleep.
