I don't think I would bother him while he is sleeping. You don't want to deprive him of something just because you are being deprived; that would be selfish, however, he can do all he can to support you during your waking hours, like help you find aids in sleeping. I'm in the same predicament you are in, only no sleeping partner. I don't think I would want to put anyone else through what I'm going through.
