I have tried a lot of different approaches. Ambien worked great for almost a year. I didn't have any side effects and I didn't feel drowsy or hung over the next morning (the biggest plus is that the research shows it to not be addictive). After almost a year of using it though I began to have hallucinations if I was wakened in the night. My doctor said it was in a family of stronger drugs known to produce this reaction - although none of his other patients had reported this side effect (maybe it was a long term reaction??). I quit taking it because the reactions made me uncomfortable but maybe this would be a possibility for you?
