Success story

Posted by Molly on June 07, 1999 at 09:28:25:

After 8 years of chronic and debilitating insomnia, I have found relief and for the past six months have been experiencing deep and restorative sleep. I would like to share this information with you, as it may help some of you.

I had gone from doctor to doctor to try to find the underlying cause of the insomnia. All they wanted to do was give me tranquilizers or antidepressants. The sleep disorder doctors were the worst. My "examination" consisted of filling out a questionnaire and an interview. I was basically told that my problem was psychological and they referred me to a psychologist.

I finally found an M.D. who practiced preventative medicine. After a thorough physical exam and lab tests, I was found to have mercury poisoning! I was given DMSA, a heavy metal chelator, plus nutritional supplements and after one month, was experiencing deep sleep. Sugar seems to aggravate the insomnia. When I elimate sugar totally I have the deepest sleep. If I start consuming it again, my sleep is lighter and more restless.

Where did the mercury come from? My fillings. About eight years ago, I had all of my old fillings replaced. Silver fillings are 50% mercury, and drilling them out causes mercury vapor, the most toxic form of mercury.

Most doctors and dentist will deny that mercury fillings are dangerous, but the insomnia started when my fillings were replaced and ended when I got the mercury out of my system.
Some books to read are "It's all in your head" and "Uninformed consent" by Hal Huggins, and "Toxic metal syndrome" by Richard Casdorph. There is also much information on the internet on amalgam related illnesses.

Hope this helps someone.
