I have a very supportive husband, but I would not expect him to get up and talk to me because I can not sleep. What I consider supportive is being understanding. My husband did things like make me herbal teas in the evenings. When someone suggested getting the book "Say Good Night to Insomnia," my husband went out and got it for me. My husband would say to me, and still says to me, that if I want to turn on a light to read or turn on the TV while he is sleep, go ahead. I don't do that. If I can't sleep and I want to read or watch TV, I get up and do it in another room so I don't disturb his sleep.
The book was wonderfully helpful. I think it would help you.
