Denise,
Hope your med changes work well for you. Give them some time and see what happens.
The only problem with replacing your "nightime sleep" with "daytime sleep" is that it will throw off you circadian rhythm even more. I have found out through experience that if I don't sleep at night I really get out of whack trying to play "catch up" the next day by napping. I learned more about this by reading John Weidman's book. He teaches you how to get back on track by setting a certain amount of time you remain in bed. For example, if you set your bedtime at 12 midnight and your wakeup time at 7am - that is your 7 hours. If you don't fall asleep at 12 midnight you still must get up at 7am no matter what time you finally get to sleep. And is very important not to nap while you are trying to reset your internal clock.
Anyway, not sure I explained that very well. If anyone else out there has read the book and would like to elaborate - please do so. Denise, you may want to get a copy and check it out. It has good info for insomniacs.
Bye,
Vicki
