benzos, ambien, sonata

Posted by barbarella on August 01, 2003 at 06:12:47:

I took benzos for years for insomnia and then last year weaned my way off of them through the benzo.org. I never thought I would get off of them. This year I have relapsed into insomnia trouble again but this time got Ambien and try not to take it too often. I didn't like the way I felt the next day so now have Sonata. They put me to sleep like benzos did exactly I feel. I try only to take on bad nights but wondering, are they really safer than benzos? Has anyone heard of any longer term use that patient is still doing okay, not have bad side-effects, or taking them round the clock, etc. I never took benzos round the clock but DID get between-dose anxiety from them. Anyone with an opinion about these three medicines? (I know it is better to sleep without medicine.)
