Hi Beth!! If I said that anxiety does not play a big role in my sleep problems then I said it wrong. I have always thought that one fed off the other. That is in my case. Because of
anxiety I cannot sleep and when I cannot sleep
my anxiety worsens.

About 9-12 months or so ago my daughter who is
in Florida had to go on a trip. She asked me
[Texas] if I could visit her and at the same
time babysit her dog while she was gone for the
2 weeks. Simple enough!! At that time I was
trying Zoloft and had been on Zoloft for a few months preceeding my visit to her place. I was not taking Elavil or Xanax and had not been
for a while. When I went to her place and she left for her trip I really did not like being there alone, and her dog got out 3 or 4 times etc etc. Well, after she came back I stayed a few more days then left for Texas. After getting back home a few days passed and I had
the worst anxiety attack that I have had in years. Palpitations, lightheadedness etc etc.
and it was a Saturday night. It is always Saturday night when you need to get a hold of your doc. I had no Xanax to quell the episode
so I endured till Monday morning. I went into my docs office and told him to take the Zoloft and shove it. :-] He gave me my prescrition of
Elavil and Xanax and that was that. I have found that Xanax is the only thing that will
stop an anxiety attack, for me. I always make sure I have some around just in case. :-]
