I use sonata on an occasional basis and when I wake up in the middle of night. Sonata is good because its effect dissapates quickly. It works best when I am not anxious. When I am anxious, I need to take an anxiety reducing medication benzo like restoril.

My experience is that sonata is for short term use and its effectiveness decreases with progressive constant use.
