i agree with cassidy!

you sound like me a little in that one night started it all. one night of no sleep and then the anxiety began and until i lost the fear of not sleeping well at night did i begin to relax again and resume my sleep. here are my suggestions....

1. accept your situation, it takes a lot of stress off when you accept the fact that your having some sleeping/stress issues. begin putting your energy into solving rather than stressing, fear and stress are toxic. you gain nothing but misery when you stress, i cant STRESS that enough :)

2. books, relaxation cds, writing your thoughts down, support group (here), exercise, good diet, herbs that relax and tone, sleep restriction, etc...

3. melatonin works good for me, hot baths at night, dim the lights a couple of hours before bed

3. practice deep breathing and meditation, i believe this is very important. dr. andrew weil has an awesome cd out called breathing. proven to lower stress levels when practiced daily.

you'll be fine, you have a lot of support here. i read the other day that something in the way of 110 million americans have sleeping difficulties. thats not including the rest of the world. lots of folks up at night :( we live in a very stressful world. be gentle with yourself though.
