I have used Xanax for many years also. But I never took more than 1, (on high anxiety occasions maybe 2) so I have not experienced any kind of addiction. Now I switched to Ativan. I take 1 before going to bed. It doesn't leave me feeling drugged in any way, even if I have to take two. If I took two Xanax, I would feel drugged. As you say, drugs affect all of us differently. I tried some Ambien a few months ago and felt so bad the next day, I swore I would never use it again. Interesting experience. heidi2
