read the post i just added to latest post. I used klonopin for two and had a pretty tough time getting off of it, not totally unbearable, but no picnic. I would get away from the benzo. I am not trying to frighten you, but the fact is that if you sleep improves with the benzo, it is only rented and once you stop the benzo, the sleep goes away. You pdoc is going to tell you stay off this site because we are all going to tell you are stories and you will probably get frightened. don't get scared! Your sleep will return, once you accept your situation and more importantly, TRUST that your body knows what to do if you give the opportunity, then you will really hit your stride. At the end of the day, insomnia really stinks, but you can manage to live your life with bad patches here and there. It's not perfect, but what is. You will sleep again. As a point of reference, i had chronic insomnia for 8 months before really deciding to fix it. stress kicked it off. At it's worse, i wasn't getting more than 2 hours of shallow sleep. I mention this because i read that you have had it since august. I am sure you are thinking, you can't take it any longer, but you are wrong, you can take it so don't panic. you won't crack or die. armed with that knowledge focus on recovering and let go of the worries.
