Here is an idea to taper off the temazapan. You can put the capsule contents into liquid and then drink a small dose or you can get the 10mg pills and cut them into small sizes.
Here is another thing that may help. I still have trouble after 10 months sleeping over 6 hours and still have occasional three hour nights and a lot of fours, fives, and sixes. However,I am now fully functional with five hours sleep,and can even do a couple of three and four hour nights. In my early months, I had days that I felt useless and feared going crazy or being a zombie. I am very productive now. Your body learns to adjust to the less sleep if it needs to. I have have a physical problem that hinders my full recovery. You got a lot of good advise. Remember when you do not sleep, as Franklin Roosevelt said--the only thing to fear is fear itself.
