Alex, what a small world...I live in the Seattle area too. I also had insomnia for about 6 months before I found the books and this site.

Since you are so new to insomnia, I think you have a great chance of turning this around quickley.

Follow the SR program without cheating. It's tuff in the beginning, but it's so worth it in the end. I am a recovering insomniac now, sleeping around 7 to 8 hrs every night. Once in awhile I'll have a bad night. But so do most people.

Make sure that you keep a morning sleep diary.... So you can keep track of the good nights too. We have a tendency to only focus on the bad nights.
