anyone else use Klonopin for sleep?

Posted by sleeplessinwa on January 07, 2004 at 15:24:31:

Hi, I'm new here posting. I'm so glad that we are not alone on this horrible insomnia road. I too have suffered over the past year and snowballed about 4 months ago when I became pregnant again after a recent miscarriage. I slept every other day and the days I did sleep it was no more than 3 hours. I m/c again only to snowball even more and not sleep at all. Needless to say I didn't sleep hardley at all for about 2 1/2-3 months straight. My mom sent me to the hospital when I was staring off in space and had thoughts about how I was going to die to get some rest. They gave me Klonopin 1mg, I have now tapered to between .25-.50 mg for sleep every night. It probably saved me because my heart was feeling like it was going to stop(scary nonstop pvc's and stuff). Anyway, I would like to taper off it eventually, but I don't want to go back to my old state. Anyone have any advice on the when and how? The dr's seem to have no clue. They want me on it for now. Good luck to all of you insomniacs. And please, don't resort to benzo's unless you have no other alternative. It's not the best option for everyone.
