This should improve. In the beginning you have to be paitent. Now that you've gotten serious about SR try adding some other good sleep hygiene tips to your new schedule.

Turn all lights down low or better yet, off about one hour before scheduled bedtime.

Make sure that your teeth are brushed and your PJ's are on too.

I end my evening by lying down on the couch watching a program on tv thats not to stimulating.

If you do the same routine each night before bedtime it prepares the body for sleep. It knows that in one hour it's time for rest.

This process takes a lot of time and commitment. For some it works faster then for others. We are all different. All I can say is keep trying.
