Nothing is working...Help!

Posted by missingsleep on February 11, 2004 at 13:05:23:

I have been having problems (big problems) falling asleep since Oct. I lie in bed for hours usually at least 3 before I fall asleep. I have tried staying up and reading until I get sleepy, but I end up still reading when it is time to be getting up. I have taken (sometimes in large quantities--with dr. approval) virtually everything on the market for sleep including Ambien, Sonata, Valium, Xanax, Trazadone, Ativan, and Restoril. Nothing helps even a little bit. I have a sleep study scheduled for next month, but I don't know what they will study if I never fall asleep. I am trying to practice good "sleep hygiene," but I am at the end of my rope. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
