Beth -
I am new to the Weidman and Jacobs' books and the whole concept of sleep restriction although I have suffered from insomnia for 8 years. I find that I typically pass out from exhaustion around 11:30- 12 p.m. but wake up at 4:30 or 5 in the morning. Although still sleepy and tired, I cannot fall back to sleep. (I may dose here and there, but I am not sleeping soundly) (This is where I need help learning and mastering relaxation techniques) Thus, the thought of actually getting up for the day at 7 appalls me. Is that really the only way I will ever improve the quality and quantity of my sleep?
