Crusader- I have suffered from insomnia for 8 years now and have been through it all. Unlike many of our counterparts here on the net, I have not found a cure with sleep restriction, but then, I am not following the plan strictly. I am reminded of a phrase I learned while attending a self help seminar several years ago: "That which we resist persists." So by resisting the SR program, am I perpetuating my own insomnia?

I have a friend (who sleeps well) who tells me that whenever she has a bad night she thinks of me and wonders how I manage to live with this day in and day out. I told her that sometimes I have wanted to die, just so that I can finally get some rest. She was shocked. She has no clue how bad insomnia can feel.

Have you tried working with a cognitive behavioral therapist to break the negative thinking cycle? I am looking for one in my area (West Los Angeles). If anyone knows of one, or a source to check, please let me know.

Carla
