Sleep Clinic - Doctor says no

Posted by bpatrick on March 02, 2004 at 08:34:58:

Last time I saw my doctor I asked him if I could go to a sleep clinic. He said no. He didn't think I had anything the sleep clinic would find. I told him things I'd read on the internet such as breathing problems and acid in the stomach. He prescibed an asthma breather and told me to take priolsec. I tried those things and they didn't work.
Does anyone know exactly what a sleep clinic looks for. SHould I insist on going to the sleep clinic. I've had insomnia for 24 years. It started out that I coulnd't get to sleep. Now I can go to sleep but wake up after 2,3 or 4 hours. THen I take Sonata and drink wine.
Thanks.
