Diphenhydramine/Simply Sleep OTC

Posted by Jazzy on March 04, 2004 at 12:54:49:

I have had trouble falling asleep ever since I can remember, I been on several anti-depressants which helped (Sinequan, Pamalor, Remeron, Paxil) and then anti-anxiety (Xanax, Halcion). I wasnt happy with the anti-depressants due to the sexual problems primarily and wasnt happy with the anti-anxiety due to the addiction part (I kept needing more and more for the same results) plus I didnt want to feel groggy during the day. So I switched to OTC Diphenhydramine for sleep aid which helped alot for the past several years with simular results night after night. But recently I started a low carb diet and the pills no longer seem to be as effective. I have had problems the past 4 nights in a row now although last night I resorted to taking a Xanax which helped but I dont want to start that habit again. Its really rough on me not getting enough sleep. I have all kinds of aches and pains due to lack of sleep, especially in my legs and of course I feel spaced during the day and dont really feel like doing anything. I recently joined the YMCA but havnt felt like going as of yet until I am well rested. I started taking a B complex vitamin yesterday. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Do you think this low carb diet has anything to do with the changes or have I just been on Diphenhydramine too long?
