Anne,
I'm sorry you were let down again. If it's any consolation, I do know how you feel. I always felt that hormonal changes were at least part of my problem, but the doctors were never willing to consider it since I'm "only 40". Have you read Dr. John Lee's book "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause"? It's a good read and may help provide some solutions for you. I started using natural progesterone cream because of that book, and it has definitely helped. Of course, I also do a lot of other things to help my sleep, like keeping consistent sleep/wake times, avoiding caffeine/alcohol, eating right, exercising, and taking certain vitamins. I also saw a therapist and completed a self-help anxiety program (books/tapes) at home. And I NEVER look at the clock in the bedroom. Even then, I still take a small dose of Remeron (3.75 mg) maybe 2 or 3 times a week. But no Ambien or anything else (and that's a real accomplishment for me). My experience has been that there is no "magic" cure, just a lot of little things practiced religiously over time that have made the difference. And of course, a whole lot of faith! I know it's hard, I still get discouraged at times. But it has gotten better for me and it will for you too. By all means continue to work with the doctors, but don't be afraid to try things on your own as well. Just don't give up. You WILL find an answer!

Wishing you peace,
Karen
