i have to say i do like the way you think. amen to that man. we
are like pavlov's dog's... we might be conditioned to not sleep
when we want too.

i do think for some people with health issues it is a problem
though.

i think alot of people do put alot of pressure to fall asleep. i also
think the books that say "how to prepare to sleep" by using the
bed only for sleeping and sex, drink warm milk or chamomile
tea, breathing exercises still puts enormous pressure on
sleeping... i think subconsciously we all might think "if we do
these things i will fall asleep naturally".

i for one cannot fal asleep naturally. i have to take ambien every
night. been going on for over a month now and i do notice i
have pockets of deep sleep but most feels like stage 2 sleep... i
am aware that i am kinda sleeping but not.

so what's your story?
