I needed to add something...for some people, insomnia is not all in their heads. Their are physiological changes that people go through and/or sicknesses that causes them to lose sleep. I should have said, "For many of us, insomnia is in our heads." I want to encourage those of us who fall into that category to redirect our thoughts to anything else other than sleep.
I'm new on this site....so I don't know if I'm allowed to promote anything. I'll give it a shot anyway. A book that has really assisted my quest to relax at night is called the Relaxation Response by Herbert Benson. I believe he is still on staff at Harvard. The book is booked by a load of emperical research. My hope is that is will help some of you struggling in this area. God bless.
