in despair

Posted by mia on June 09, 2004 at 06:40:47:

dear fellow insomniacs
I have never posted on this forum before but been reading the messages in the past with great interest. I have been suffering from insomnia for about a year now. I can't go sleep, can't stay asleep, and when i do it doesn't feel like sleeping at all but more like hallucinating (strange long lasting dreams that are very tiring). All this started suddenly (nothing particularly disturbing happened by the way) and before it started i used to be a very good sleeper.
What is strange is that my brother started suffering from insomnia about few months after me and my dad about three years ago. Is this normal, that the whole family can suddenly start suffering from it? Does anyone know why this is?
I feel so tired all the time, and just don't know what to do any more, have tried almost everything......

thanks in advance
