Hi-
No I am not male and I live in the midwest, in a medium size city, near some topnotch medical facilities all of which offer the chronic insomniac NOTHING except sleeping pills. I am so sick of pill pushers. It doesn't take any brains to push pills and I have so come to loath doctors for their incompetence that the mere sight of one makes me angry.
Yes I have suffered from depression much of my life. Here again we are offered nothing requiring brains from the pill pushers. The books I am reading on circadian rhythm suggest that Chronotherapy can be useful for depressed people too. And I have my own lightbox (used for SAD sufferers) that helps me there. But mostly my depression is related to social causes, previously poverty and homelessness, no family, no social network (due to being isolated from many causes including FM and Chronic insomnia, etc)and the like. I have had a hard and stressful life since I was a child, so it is no surprise that I would suffer depression. Only the pill pushers try to make it out to be something more. That keeps them satisfied that they know what they are doing and keeps the pharmeceutical industry happy. I have confidence that when I get my circadian rhythm corrected my sleep problems will resolve. And I am determined to correct it, one way or another.
