Thanks for your post. It gives me hope. I am still taking 1 Ativan before going to bed. I go to sleep most every night but then I wake up at 2 or 3 or 4 a.m. Last night I woke up at 4:00 and could not go back to sleep. Even though I had almost 4.5 hours of sleep, it just is not enough. I felt really tired and out of it today. I also seem to have this free floating anxiety. Not anxious about anything particular, just anxious with my heart beating fast. I hate it.

I am already doing sleep hygiene, walking during the day, meditating, relaxing, keeping a sleep log, and going to bed at 11:30 and up at 6:00-6:30. I have done SR twice before (not using any meds) and it is brutal. I just haven't had the courage to start again. Without the Ativan, I would probably have to go to bed at 2:00 a.m. and then wake up 3-4 hours later. Right now, my problem is waking up in the middle of the night. Does anybody have any ideas?

I don't drink, don't smoke, don't drink coffee, only decaffinated tea, walk 40 - 90 minutes a day and eat healthy foods. I enjoy my quiet time. I also listen to spiritual tapes and meditation tapes. Oh, what else can I do? Casablanca
