Awake 48 hours and counting

Posted by Texasawake on September 23, 2004 at 22:57:14:

I have chronic spine and nerve problems which was treated with oxycontin for the past 7 years. I decided to ditch the poison (up to 320 mg a day.) on my own last Thursday. (Sept. 16) Physical dependence made those first 5 days pretty bad, and I had not slept more than 2 hours a night since the 16th, and those hours, catnaps of nightmares, spaced widely apart. I haven't even had that much since Tuesday. Oxy used to make me sleep both day and night.

My mind is very awake and sharp, my body feels a bit tired. Sleeping pills just make me feel more tired, same with nightime tea, nyquill, and even those sleep tapes!

So, here I sit, reading Love in the Time of Cholera and listening to cd after cd of the music I seem to have missed during my 7 year narcotic fog.

Does anyone out there know how much longer narcotic withdrawal owl-eye lasts?
