Thanks for the suggestion of the books ! I will look for them at the library, or ask them to order them. The answer to the other question...I have always been a light sleeper all of my life, but the daily headaches have been maybe in the last year. I take Imitrex migraine med almost daily. I Know it is a migraine by the symptoms, every one in my family has them as well. I was diagnosed with them 20 years ago at least.
I go to sleep listening to sleep CD's and rarely hear more than 2 or 3 songs and I'm out. But then I wake up around 1:30 with a pounding headache. Usually it hurts too much to return to sleep.
I have heard that lavender helps so I bought some spray, and bath powder, and also bath beads all in that scent. I am going to smell like a lavender bush tonite ! I also have some Lortab left over from a previous surgery and I'm going to try that. I never EVER take pain med so I am interested in:
1. Will a pain med prevent migraine
2. If migraine is prevented, will I actually sleep?
3. Will pain med help with my throbbing joint pain at night.
I don't lay and worry about not sleeping, believe it or not. (my head hurts too much!) And I have a wonderful job I adore, NO stress, I am a pediatric home nurse for special needs children. So I don't worry about that.
My husband started cpap a few months ago and he sleeps in another room now for both of our comforts since he's not a "quiet" sleeper.
Will fill you all in, in the morning ! I look forward to reading what everyone posts. This forum is VERY insightful !
