I already tried that looser approach, for
most of this year. And it didn't work.
I could never get to the point of sustaining
more than about 4.5 hours of sleep a night.
I got fairly quickly to that level after
a few weeks of the looser form of sleep
control, but never progressed beyond it
over a period of months. I, too, used to
get much of my sleep in the AM, just before
getting up. That's back when i was typically
staying in bed for 9 hours a night. But
now that i have a problem of very light,
intermittent sleep, staying in bed
that long only tends to sustain the
fragmented nature of my sleep, I believe.
